I knew that the local Mazda dealer imports Mitsuokas, so... nice weather... time for a ride. In the flesh, the Himiko looked better than I thought it would. Still not-quite-right, but better. Certainly wouldn’t enjoy pulling out of t-junctions.
The one in the pic is a used
automatic at £24000. Included a couple of MX-5s for scale.

Interesting car. I see bits of MX5, Jag, S2000, Prowler and maybe a bit of Rolls Royce in that thing. It’s like all those cars smashed into each other and reassembled itself, not unlike when the space probe, Nomad, crashed into an alien probe and reassembled into something else in Star Trek, TOS.
Alas, it’s not an Orochi. I know everyone thinks those are fugly, but I really dug the special edition 7-11 Evangelion Misuoka Orochi. Ahhh, first loves.

With some more power and that wheelbase it could be the world’s best drift car.
Come on Japan, do your thing.

That’s the thing - it looks like it’s got a much meatier engine in it. POWERRRRRR!

More like the opposite though because I'm sure it gained some serious weight.

I recognize that dealership! I’ve seen advertising posts by him on various Facebook groups for selling and buying Miata/MX-5 parts and cars! He’s got a good collection for sale.
